Our gynecological services in detail
This is everything we offer at our practice in Lübeck. Most of it is not something every patient needs. What applies to you, and when, we work out together in your appointment.
Prevention & early detection
- Early cancer detection
- A smear test from the cervix, along with palpation of the abdomen and breast.
- HPV test as part of screening
- The test detects the viruses that can cause cervical cancer. It is done together with the smear test.
- Dysplasia clinic
- If a smear test came back abnormal, we look for the cause and keep monitoring it.
- Cancer aftercare
- Follow-up examinations after a cancer diagnosis has been treated.
- Bowel cancer screening
- Early detection of sources of bleeding in the bowel.
- Immunological stool test
- Detects hidden blood in the stool, with no need to follow a diet beforehand.
- HIV test
- On request, for example before a planned pregnancy.
Contraception & fertility
- Contraception advice
- We go through the methods one by one. What fits in the end depends on your age, on any existing conditions, and on how reliable the contraception needs to be.
- IUD insertion
- Copper or hormonal coil. Beforehand we use ultrasound to check that the uterus is suitable.
- Copper chain (GyneFix) insertion
- The frameless alternative to the coil. We can insert it under light sedation if you prefer.
- Copper ball insertion
- Hormone-free contraception that adapts to the shape of the uterus.
- Contraceptive implant (Implanon)
- A hormone rod placed under the skin of the upper arm.
- Three-month contraceptive injection
- Hormonal contraception given as a depot injection.
- Ultrasound check of coil or implant
- A short examination to confirm that everything is still in the right place.
- Fertility investigations
- If pregnancy does not happen, we look at your cycle, ovulation and hormone levels, and work out where to go from there.
Hormones & menopause
- Endocrinology & hormone clinic
- For anything hormone-related. An irregular cycle counts, as do hair loss, acne and the question of which contraception suits you.
- Menopausal symptoms
- Hot flushes, sleep problems, changes in mood. We check whether the menopause really is behind them, or something else.
- Hormone blood tests
- Blood values such as FSH and estradiol, when it is unclear whether menopause has begun.
- Osteoporosis
- Detecting bone loss early and treating it, before fractures occur.
Ultrasound & examinations
- Pelvic ultrasound, transvaginal
- Assessment of the uterus and ovaries, without radiation exposure.
- Breast ultrasound
- In addition to the physical examination, especially with dense glandular tissue.
- Discharge testing for fungal infection
- Examination of vaginal discharge for fungi and bacteria, when itching or burning comes with it.
Advice & support
- Pediatric & adolescent gynecology
- A first visit to the gynecologist, taken slowly. Your mother or a friend is welcome to come along.
- Nutritional advice
- For women at every stage of life.
- Acupuncture for gynecological complaints
- Alongside conventional treatment, for example with menstrual pain or chronic pain.
Thinking holistically
Symptoms often have more than one cause. That's why we look beyond the finding itself, at your hormones, at how you are feeling and at your everyday life.
On request, we complement conventional treatment with naturopathic methods and acupuncture.
